The final quarter of 2025 is a real window of opportunity for home buyers and existing borrowers.
Helped by recent OCR cuts, floating & fixed interest rates have been slowly but surely reducing, with the 1 & 2 year rates now hovering in the mid 4% range…a drastic improvement from the past couple of years.
Borrowers coming off a fixed rate of 6-7% will be feeling a huge relief with lower repayments or paying more off their loans without the huge interest costs.
Along with these low rates, the Reserve Bank has also announced relaxed Loan to Value Ratio (LVR) restrictions.
From December, the banks will be allowed to take on a larger portion of high LVR (low deposit) lending.
This will open up the banks appetites for low deposit lending and give potential borrowers more options among lenders - particularly for first home buyers.
